Studio policies

Hey there, pottery pals!

We know, reading through studio policies might seem about as exciting as... well, watching clay dry, but bear with us – it's for the greater good of our creative haven.

Our studio policies are like the unsung heroes, quietly ensuring everyone has a smooth and joyful experience. They're the backstage crew making sure this pottery show runs without a hitch.

From keeping everyone safe to making sure the kilns don't throw a tantrum, these policies are here to sprinkle a bit of order on our clay-filled chaos. So, let's embrace them like our trusty pottery tools and make this creative journey a masterpiece for all of us. Cheers to a studio where policies are the secret sauce to our shared artistic adventures!

Collection policy

Give a pot a home.

We’re a tiny little studio with a lot of happy potters depending on us.

With shelf space at a premium, we need to make sure we have enough space available to keep everyone’s creative juices flowing.

This means that we can only keep pots for 6 months from the date they were thrown.

But fear not, any pots not collected by the end of this time won’t go to waste. They’ll be donated to one of our favourite charities.

Make-up class policy

If you are unable to make a class or session, we offer make-up classes and in-house credits within reason.

Please refer to our cancellation policy if required.

If for any reason Throw Clay Studio is unable to conduct a class or session, a substitute session will be offered.

Missing pot policy

Pot gone walk-about?

Just like socks, pots can go missing.
The best way to keep your pots under control is to use your makers mark on each and every pot.
We do everything we can to wrangle everyone’s pots and keep them in order but very occasionally, they do go missing.
Whilst we try our hardest to locate these vagrant pots, to be honest, looking for “a pot that’s round and about this tall” isn’t all that easy.
If you want to be extra careful, we recommend taking a photo of your creations at the end of every session. This will help if your pot decides to go for a wander.

We welcome our young potters!
